Ottapalam, a vibrant mini-township nestled in the heart of Palakkad district, Kerala, is far more than just an administrative hub. A Glimpse into the Past: The Heart of Valluvanad Historically, Ottapalam was a significant part of the medieval Nedunganad kingdom , a powerful entity that extended its influence across what is now north-central Kerala. Ruled by the Nedunganathiripads (Nedungadi), this region was a testament to the might of the Samanthan Nair families. Later, around 1487 AD, it was annexed by the Zamorin of Calicut, who appointed chieftains to govern the area.
